AND, we're back in business!

Thanks to my amazing sister in law, Melissa, we're back in action! She had an extra camera that she's letting us use to capture our Isaac moments!

Today was our first full day at the beach, and Isaac loved every single second of it! We met up with some friends, who have a couple of boys who are just a little bit older than Isaac, he had a blast watching them run all around. . . soon little buddy, soon enough that will be you.

He practically launched himself from my arms into the ocean, ha. Must be a native thing. He certainly doesn't get his love for the ocean from ME!

RIP Nikon CoolPix, RIP

Sad day. . .

My camera did not survive being dropped in the pool.
I took it all apart,
let it air dry for a day,
dabbed out the inside with q-tips,
sealed it in a ziplock bag full of rice,
but nothing worked.
I'm not sure if it can be fixed or not.
So for now, I won't be able to take 14,000 pictures of my little guy each day, let alone post any

It's Hot, Hot, HOT!

Yesterday was so hot, that after we left the beach, after only being able to stand it for just over an over, I had to figure out a way for my little guy to stay cool. Or try to anyhow.

I have to say, I was rather tempted to crawl into his pool with him at one point. Although I'm sure the water would have all poured out.

It's not even June yet and already the temperature got up to 87 degrees! I'm not looking forward to what August will bring. . .

Isaac's first day at the beach

Since today was supposed to hit the high 80's, (it got up to 87!) I knew Isaac and I wouldn't last all day in the house. Especially with no air conditioning!

We met up with a few friends at State Beach, around eleven , we were supposed to be there around ten, but Isaac's 8am nap ran a bit longer than usual.

It was really fun watching him experience everything for the very first time. He wasn't so sure about the sand between his toes, but he loved the ocean! I held his hands so he could stand at the shoreline, and he practically leapt right in! Typical island native I suppose. We lasted a little less than an hour, but all in all I think it was a tremendous success for the first day at the beach!

Unfortunately, I dropped my camera in the pool yesterday, so I wasn't able to take any pictures. Well, I took one, with my phone, so it's not very good. A couple of the other moms took some, hopefully I will post those soon.

Helloooooo Summer!

Isaac (and I) were very lucky that Ean and Melissa were able to pick up such a fantastic present! Today was the first "official" beach day of the season, and after I packed up all the frozen snacks, every sippy cup we have, tons of suncreen, three outfits, towels, toys, umbrella, ect. I realized that the first trip to the beach may be better if I'm not alone.
After a little running around, we stopped over to see Melissa, who pulled out a pool for Isaac! What a fabulous new toy!!
As soon as we finished lunch, I set it all up, and let the fun begin! Much better )and way less sandy mess) than the beach!

Not one, but TWO first teeth!

After many nights of Isaac waking up almost more than once an hour, and months of him teething, Monday morning brought some relief to both him and I. During breakfast, I noticed his very first tooth! And within just a few hours, a second tooth had popped up!

I'll post pictures once he's showing them off!

Swing, Swing!

Michael bought Isaac a new swing recently, and after searching high and low throughout our tiny yard, we found the perfect spot for it. Isaac seemed a teeny bit hesitant at first, but soon loved to swing! Just not too fast, or too high, not without a vast sea of pillows and bubble wrap underneath him, at least. Per me.

Grampy's Birthday

Last night we all celebrated my father's birthday. I was elected to make the cake, a German chocolate cake, which I hadn't ever tried to make before. With my chocolate allergy, I thought it was best to not try it, but everyone who did, said it was stupendous.

Unfortunately I only took two pictures, (Luckily Melissa took a few with her IPhone!) I was soo busy chasing Isaac around, their house is less baby proofed than ours, rightfully so.

Isaac was so non stop busy busy busy, he wore himself right out, I corralled him with pillows on one of the recliners, he didn't even budge!

New toys are fun!

This afternoon, after a very busy morning, Isaac and I came home to a mountain of packages, all for him! Since he's almost grown out of his infant car seat, I had to get him a new one. Well, little did I know how monstrous this thing would be! It practically looks like it may possibly be the same size as the passenger seat!
Plus, since he's standing on his own and taking a few steps, I figured he may just love an activity table, plus a push toy. And to get his gorgeous little brain working, I found him some fun puzzles and a puzzle box, all of which he looooooooves and adores!
For a little while he was more interested in tasting the puzzle pieces. But he soon figured it out!

As a Mother's Day gift to myself, I also bought a jogging stroller! Hooray, the stroller we have is really nice, and light, and had tons of space underneath for storage. But living on such a long, bumpy dirt road makes it using that stroller, a little tough. But not this one! I may even start jogging again! I'll just have to research when a good time would be, so not a single car passes by!

Isaac the independent eater

Lately I've been battling Isaac's food strike. I think I figured out what part of the problem is, he really just wants to be feeding himself! So this week he's been munching on Rice Krispies, Happy Baby banana flavored (although they taste nothing at all like banana) rice puffs, sliced banana, and sliced kiwi. All of which have been huge hits!

Yay for Isaac!

May Day

Yesterday was May first, aka May Day. Isaac celebrated the day by wearing shorts for the very first time! It was so warm out, and finally not a chance of rain! And hardly any wind at all. We had a really fantastic day.
Lots of sun, lots of fun, and about 4 applications of sunscreen! Welcome May!
