My sweet lil' native

Apparently, the fact that Isaac is a true Vineyard native is beginning to shine through. To date, he LOVES the beach, and only gets upset if/when you try to take him out of the water! I'm thankful for the fact my daring sister isn't scared of the ocean's arctic temperatures!
We've only had one day of sand eating, and he seemed to get that temptation out of his system...REAL quick!

Relay for LIfe

This weekend was the Relay for Life, which is a 21 hour relay that takes place each year at our local high school track. All money raised for or at this event goes to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Although Isaac and I were able to help set up our team tent, we were struck by such a nasty thunder and lightning storm, we weren't actually able to do our part walking around the track.
I was really disappointed that we couldn't do more to help.

I suppose there's always next year!

The watermellon monster

Although Isaac has had his fair share of frozen watermellon, thanks to his Nuby Nibbler, until a few days ago, he hadn't eaten it by hand. I'm pretty sure that he's consumed an entire watermellon since Monday. And hasn't shown any signs of slowing down any time soon! I've taken to stripping him down to just a diaper when I give it to him. That way it's much easier to either plop him in the tub, or a pool after. Much easier to clean up that way!

(The last picture is his watermellon monster face. I hadn't refilled his supply!)

AND, we're back in business!

Thanks to my amazing sister in law, Melissa, we're back in action! She had an extra camera that she's letting us use to capture our Isaac moments!

Today was our first full day at the beach, and Isaac loved every single second of it! We met up with some friends, who have a couple of boys who are just a little bit older than Isaac, he had a blast watching them run all around. . . soon little buddy, soon enough that will be you.

He practically launched himself from my arms into the ocean, ha. Must be a native thing. He certainly doesn't get his love for the ocean from ME!

RIP Nikon CoolPix, RIP

Sad day. . .

My camera did not survive being dropped in the pool.
I took it all apart,
let it air dry for a day,
dabbed out the inside with q-tips,
sealed it in a ziplock bag full of rice,
but nothing worked.
I'm not sure if it can be fixed or not.
So for now, I won't be able to take 14,000 pictures of my little guy each day, let alone post any
: (

It's Hot, Hot, HOT!

Yesterday was so hot, that after we left the beach, after only being able to stand it for just over an over, I had to figure out a way for my little guy to stay cool. Or try to anyhow.

I have to say, I was rather tempted to crawl into his pool with him at one point. Although I'm sure the water would have all poured out.

It's not even June yet and already the temperature got up to 87 degrees! I'm not looking forward to what August will bring. . .

Isaac's first day at the beach

Since today was supposed to hit the high 80's, (it got up to 87!) I knew Isaac and I wouldn't last all day in the house. Especially with no air conditioning!

We met up with a few friends at State Beach, around eleven , we were supposed to be there around ten, but Isaac's 8am nap ran a bit longer than usual.

It was really fun watching him experience everything for the very first time. He wasn't so sure about the sand between his toes, but he loved the ocean! I held his hands so he could stand at the shoreline, and he practically leapt right in! Typical island native I suppose. We lasted a little less than an hour, but all in all I think it was a tremendous success for the first day at the beach!

Unfortunately, I dropped my camera in the pool yesterday, so I wasn't able to take any pictures. Well, I took one, with my phone, so it's not very good. A couple of the other moms took some, hopefully I will post those soon.
