Isaac meets Peter Rabbit

This morning, Isaac and I had a very special treat. After story hour at the Library, Peter Rabbit came to visit! There must be something very magical about our favorite librarian Nelia, because Isaac didn't even leave my lap.
Which is simply amazing within itself, I can't believe he sat still for a whole story! He was a little unsure about going to say hello to Peter. I think it may have been the swarms of louder, older kids all around. Lucky for us, we had terrific seats, so we got a great view!

We knew he was going to make an appearance so Isaac wore his Peter Rabbit outfit, AND brought along his own Peter Rabbit. Nelia was rather impressed.

Oh hello storm clouds

Yesterday afternoon, as soon as I laid Isaac down for his afternoon nap, it got curiously dark outside. Almost as if the night time and day time had switched. The wind suddenly picked up, and I realized all of my car windows were down. As I raced out to dodge the raindrops, and get them closed, I happened to look up at the sky....

I should have taken a video instead, and sent it to the director of the Harry Potter movies, it would have slipped into the film just perfectly!

The frightening, angry clouds were followed by a few hours of down pour, thunder, and lightning, non of which woke up Isaac. Whew!

By 4 o'clock, the sun was shining again, the birds were singing, and yet there was no rainbow! Pashaw, rip off I saw.

And we shall call him, Woof

Today, Isaac and I went to our favorite, quaint little pet store, LIttle Leona's. We were in search of a few algae eaters for our tank, since it's looking a tad on the scummy side, blech! It occurred to me while we were there, that our beloved Beta fish had recently passed away, and perhaps we should refill his bowl.
There was a whole shelf lined with Betas, too many to choose from. So I left it up to Isaac to decide! There were green ones, small ones, big ones, a few that had such long, torn looking finns, none of which Isaac paid any attention to. Then there was this little shrimpy one who swam up to the glass, and Isaac let out this super adorable giggle. That's the one!
After poking around the place for a while, and admiring all the other animals, bunnies, colorful tropical fish, ponies, the goat, ect, we headed home. After I cleaned out the bowl, I knelt down and asked Isaac what we should call our new pet. He crawled over, put his hands on the bag, spit out his pacifier, and in a very matter-of-fact kind of way, said "Woof".
Well, that's it then, I'd like to introduce Woof.

Felix Neck

Yesterday was such a miserable, muggy, cloudy day. There were thunderstorms threatening to wash us away all day long, but luckily didn't actually arrive until much later in the evening. Ian, Isaac and I HAD to get out of this hot, stuffy house.
Thank goodness for Felix Neck wildlife refuge! It's a great place for nature walks, and finding animals that we don't see everyday.
We were so lucky to see a baby swan, with its very protective parents! An osprey, a few huge frogs, a gorgeous dragonfly, and that was before we got inside! Where we saw animals on the mend, which included a starfish missing a leg, and a few turtles that needed a little love.
Besides the swarms of misquotes that we couldn't seem to get away from, it was a very fun day!

Ten months old

Happy ten month birthday my sweet angelic boy

Today marks Isaac's tenth month on the planet. I can't believe that he's only a mere two months away from becoming a year old! Everyone told me it would fly by, but I had no idea it would be this fast.

This is a picture I just took of him. . . Hmm, we may need a wider crib!

(with this ten month milestone, I'm beginning to feel a tad unprepared for his birthday!)

Happy 4th of July

Yesterday was a fantastic day! Isaac had a great time at his very first 4th of July parade. And even though he didn't quite make it to the annual fireworks, it was still a fabulous day!

Cousins!

Yesterday we had a fantastic visit from Michael's sister and family. They all live in upstate New York, and we don't get to see that very often. They're staying in Hyannis for the week, so they headed this way for a day trip. The weather couldn't have been any more perfect, and despite the fact that the 4th of July is quickly approaching, the crowds weren't too bad in Oak Bluffs!
I'm not sure Isaac will remember, but all the kids had a really fun time at the Flying Horses, and just romping around the town.

Hooray for cousins!
