We had our family portraits taken, for the first time the other night. I wanted to test the light in our backyard, not bad I say, not bad.

Beach days with Baba

We were so lucky to have Baba (Michael's mother) stay with us for a few weeks. It was so nice having her with us, the extra set of hands was a wonderful gift. And the extra set of eyes on Isaac is always welcome, especially lately!
Living on an island, we have many gorgeous beaches to chose from. I can't recall exactly why we weren't at one of them every single day while she was here!! We did manage to squeeze in a few terrific days, poor Baba didn't get to relax very much. Isaac was much happier leading her all over, collecting stones and shells, splashing, digging, building sandcastles.
He loved every single moment of her visit. We all did!

"Race to the Gold!"

Last week, we were lucky to be invited to a puppet show put on by Ian's 4th grade class. It was such a cute production put on, produced, written, created and developed entirely by the kids, music and all!
It was really fun to watch, even though I wasn't able to watch the whole thing, (it was held in his school's library, so Isaac was very easily distracted with all those books around)
Ian wasn't in the actual puppet part of the show, but he was involved with a few of the dance numbers, which were fantastic!

Intro to the crazy daisy

I felt horrible, it not only took out Ian, but it then turned and took out Isaac too! Poor guys. They soon got brave again, faced their fears and jumped back into the spray!

Isaac and Ian vs The Crazy Daisy

Earlier in the week my brother came over to clean out some things from the garage. It was fun to see all the stuff I still have stuffed down there, and haven't thought about in ages. I came across one of those Crazy Daisy sprinklers, does anyone remember those? I bought it for my nephew when he was a toddler, and it was still in perfect shape!
We had a string of super hot days, up into the 90s! We needed a fun way to cool off, so I gave it a shot. A little bit of a rough introduction, but they ended up having a ton of fun with it!

I am so proud

The other day, Michael and Isaac surprised me by singing the alphabet! Apparently they've been practicing. I realize that it looks like I bribed him with food to get him to sing for me. Not the case, he just happened to be eating his graham cracker with peanut butter.

A Visit from Baba!

We have been so lucky to have Baba (Michael's mother) visiting for the past few weeks! She needed a bit of a break from New York life, and needed to breath in some clean ocean air, and take in some serious grand kid time!
I don't think a day had passed since she and Gigi (Michael's dad) left after their last visit, that Isaac didn't say "Baba boat? Gigi Boat?" Meaning, are they coming on the boat?

We've been really blessed with some fantastic weather, clear skies, soft breeze, warm sun, it's hard to ask for much more than that. We've managed to sneak in a couple beach days, although one of them wasn't so successful. We were pushed off the beach by a swarm of nasty bugs, I had never seen so many in one place at one time.

She'll be heading home soon, and I know we're sure going to miss her!
