Getting into that Holiday Spirit!

It's Christmas time already! You'd never know it by the warm weather we've been having around here though. Yesterday Isaac was in flip flops and I was running around in a tee shirt, in DECEMBER! Unheard of!

Our holiday countdown has begun, we're at only 19 days until Santa brings his goodies, and I haven't even started shopping : (
I really need to get on that, and pronto!!

My great friend Ariel, www.arielthomasphotography.wordpress.com came over last week and took some super adorable photos of Isaac. She even knit him his own Santa's elf hat! She's far more talented that I'll ever be, that's for sure : )

Isaac hammed it up like usual, and I know she got some amazing shots of him! I can't wait to print them and send them with Christmas gifts this year!
Even Alexander started getting into the ol' holiday fun.

The Grey Barn

Last week, Isaac and I met up with Aunt Woo Woo at the Grey Barn. She was helping with the milking of their cows that morning, and we wanted to get in on the fun!
We missed the milking, but we helped collect eggs from their chicken coops, we herded the cows, drove a gator, helped plant seeds for the cows special treat grass, saw week old baby piglets, fed older piglets, and their much older cousins, then proceeded to be chases by the angry mama pig who didn't want us so close to her teeny babies!!

It was such a fun day!! We'll be heading back there for sure!

Alpacas with Baba and Gigi

Unfortunately, Isaac got sick Thanksgiving night, and didn't shake his bug until the day before they were leaving to head home. It really limited our fun time with them : (

We were able to take advantage of the beautiful weather one of the days they were here though. Isaac had asked to see some Alpacas and lucky for us we have our own Alpaca farm here. It's just up the road from us, and Baba and Gigi hadn't been there before.
It was really fun! We got to see some of their new babies, a giant male who looked like a camel at the wrong farm (lo and behold, Alpacas and camels are cousins. Who knew?!)
We explored their gift shop, and saw tons of great products all made from Alpaca wool, if it wasn't so smelly, I'd love to have one of the huge, fluffy hats!

A Time for Thanks

We were very lucky to have Michael's parents visit us for Thanksgiving this year. We celebrated at my uncles house, which meant I got to take it easy in the cooking department! Somehow I still managed to ruin not one, but TWO pumpkin pies : (
But I wowed the crowds with a sweet potato pie, and my famous apple pie.
(Michael was rather sad that he only got to eat half of it)
For fun this year, I brought mustaches to the second course,
just to spice it up a little bit!
Everybody (the few that weren't too tired to join us for the second course anyway) really got into the fun of it, and had a blast!

Santa comes to town

Last weekend, the motorcycle group that my father's been a big part of for years, had their annual "toys for tots run", which means that the Harley Riders drove their motorcycles to different places throughout the island, picking up donations and doing some fundraising for the Red Stocking Fund. The Red Stocking Fund is a fantastic organization who help provide local children in need, gifts for Christmas.
This year was super special,
because Bampie (my father) had his special friend Santa
riding in the sidecar of his motorcycle!

Isaac has been talking about Santa ever since!!
I guess the countdown to the holidays is on now.

Hello Beautiful Ball of Fluff

Today, Isaac and I went to visit the local animal shelter where we found our beloved Alexander. A friend of mine who works there let me know that there was an uber-adorable, four month old Pomeranian puppy who needed a good home. He told me a heartbreaking story of how he wound up with a broken leg.
The puppy had lived in a very crowded house, with allot of little kids. Somehow he got under a rocking chair and his leg was caught under the chair : (
He was by far the sweetest, most lovable, most adorable, kissiest puppy that I've ever met! I wanted to sneak him into Isaac's diaper bag, and bring him home with us. He gets along really great with cats, which is good because he's smaller then both of ours. He was so great with Isaac too. He just wanted to cuddle up close to anyone who looked at him!
We ventured into the kitty room after a little while, and we met three wonderful kitties! One had a cold, so she was in her cage. She adored Isaac so much, and let him sit and pet her for so long. I've never heard a cat purr so loudly!
We met an older cat named Graham who reminded me of Alexander. He was huge, with pumpkin colored eyes, and the longest white whiskers in the world. He had soft grey fur with a white chin and chest, he was a great cat to lounge around with, he wasn't so playful.
There was a very sweet, big, sleek, fluffy cat who reminded me of a lynx. She had super tall ears with little tufts of fur on their tops, big yellow round eyes, a thick fluffy tail, and a glorious mane.

It was hard to leave our new found fluffy friends, but I assured Isaac we could visit again real soon.

Holiday Time

I can't believe that the holidays are sprinting towards us already! Isaac and I have been very busy making Thanksgiving crafts, using lots of fun supplies, like paper plates, googly eyes, feathers, galore!

We're counting down the days until Baba and Gigi arrive!! Then the festivities can really begin! (of course pictures will follow)

I've already begun creating our holiday cards,
it's so hard choosing only a few pictures from the whole year!
There are so many great ones
